This range is designed by Akira.  The inspiration is from a tribe in east Africa called the Dinka who wear these incredible corsets which inspired me with their elegance and mystique.  This started a long journey designing modern African jewellery and collecting beads.  The range is a modern interpretation of traditional African designs.  The designs are made with small silver beads made from recycled coins, recycled by a tribe in east Africa. This reminds one of the incredible ability of African people to create things from recycled materials and the resourcefulness of that. Each piece is created with beads carefully selected from Africa, combined with semi precious stones, wood, metal, bone and stone.  And each piece has a story to it.

The range has been supplied to numerous outlets both in South Africa and the UK as well as having been sold directly to the public on many international markets over the years.  These designs and their beads have travelled across the globe carrying with them their stories.
